The extensive clinical research by renowned dental implant pioneer Dr. Paulo Malo, proved only four dental implants are needed in selected cases to support a fixed prosthesis (teeth) in the upper or lower arch. By placing the posterior (back) dental implants at certain angles and using custom abutment, the patient can be successfully restored without costly and time-consuming bone grafts. More implants can be placed but most cases required only four, thus reducing the total cost.
With One Day Teeth, the dental implants are stabilized together with an acrylic prosthesis to permit immediate function. This concept is referred to as cross arch stabilization. A significant amount of work goes into the fabrication of the prosthesis before the surgery.
Dental implants rarely fail. In fact, they are the single most successful procedure offered by the entire dental implant professions today. In the event a dental implant fails, most patients can have another implant placed using a slightly longer or larger dental implant in an alternative position in the arch. Late failures for single implants are quite rare. We will work with you to determine the exact etiology of the failure. Late failures are most likely due to poor oral hygiene. As with natural teeth, the dental implants and implant-supported bridges must be cleaned daily and good oral hygiene habits need to be observed.
Dr. Whitesides is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon. His knowledge and experience will be used to critically evaluate your case. He and his team will critically evaluate your clinical and radiological (3D CT scan) case to determine if you are a suitable candidate for One Day Teeth. Should your health history be complex, Dr. Whitesides will work with your primary care physician to help you meet your goals for a new smile.
No surgical procedure is without pain or discomfort. Dr. Whitesides will have you comfortably sedated throughout the entire surgical procedure. After the surgery, while the prosthodontist is working on your smile, you will be comfortably numb and not feel any pain or discomfort. Postoperative instructions and appropriate pain medications will be given to make sure that your postoperative experienced is as comfortable as possible.
Yes. You will eventually be able to eat almost anything without worrying about your teeth falling out as the prosthesis is attached to the implants. During the first three months, we ask you to modify your diet slightly to permit the bone and dental implant to integrate, after that chew away!
Regular visits to your dentist are highly recommended. Routine maintenance of dental implants and natural teeth are a must if you wish to maintain your beautiful smile. Unlike the big corporate dental implant chains, Dr. Whitesides will see you yearly for routine check-ups at NO COST.
If you are a good candidate for One Day Teeth, you can expect to have your teeth in one day! Everyone’s case is unique but the vast majority of the work done by Dr. Whitesides and the prosthodontist is done before the surgery. That being said, most patients can have their single or multiple implant cases completed by lunch provided the pre-surgical work-up is relatively simple. More complex or dual arch cases require a full day.
In most dental implant cases, dental insurance will contribute only partially to the dental implant treatment. We have alternative financing options via Lending Club to help you meet your financial obligation. We also accept all major credit cards. We offer a significant discount for cash payment.
